What the Bible Says About Giving:

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

2 CORINTHIANS 9:7

It is a privilege, honour and duty of all God’s people to faithfully tithe to their local church. Your offering, whether to the General Fund, the Building Fund, Missions or the Food Bank, goes towards the furtherance of God’s kingdom, and can have an impact for eternity. During these difficult times, when the need is great and offering is often diminished due to the financial stress that many are going through, your donations make an even greater difference.

Thank you for whatever you can provide. The story told in Mark 12:41-44 illustrates how important it is to our Lord.

“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

MARK 12:41-44

Jesus notices what we give, even if it’s only a few cents. Give from the heart, and give as God leads you to give. Thank you.

The church has introduced e-transfer as a digitized channel accepting donation. You can now send money from the account of your financial institute to the church account in a secure way through online or mobile banking.

Instructions for making an offering by e-Transfer:

(1) Add Grace Chinese Gospel Church of North York as a new e-Transfer payee with the email address offering@gcgcny.org.

(2) In the text box each time you make a transaction, add a note following this format to indicate your name, offering number and how you would like your donation is to be allocated among ministries:

Name ( ) Offering # ( ) GF ( ) BLD ( ) STM ( ) FDS ( )

For example, if your total donation is $100, your note/message could say:

Name (Peace Chan) Offering # (0123) GF (50), BLD (25), STM(25) [or any other combination of amounts and funds you would like to support]

Note: Any donations made without a fund code will be considered a ‘General Fund’ (GF). Please follow the above format because some banks’ systems might not accept other special characters in message, e.g. * / – $ etc.

IMPORTANT TAX INFORMATION: To receive donation receipt after year end, it is recommended that you have an offering # to donate through e-transfer. Otherwise in the offering # field, put in your full name, full address, email, and telephone number.
